New Year’s Eve:.  I live in the party capital of the world.  How did I spend it?

Seven hours at the cardiologist’s office where I was drained of a few quarts of body fluids, and my innards were scanned, screened, and assessed.  And just for fun, I was pumped full of  radioactive isotopes.  In between tests and visits to the restroom, I had plenty of time to sort the change at the bottom of my purse, read crumpled fortunes  from old cookies, consolidate the collection of sticky notes tucked into my various pockets into a single “to-do list”, tidy up the contacts list on my phone, organize the receipts in my checkbook and play with the settings on my camera.  I even discovered how to turn off the autoflash feature.  Needless to say, next Wednesday when I return for the test results, I’ll bring a book or two.  In the meantime, here are a few of the pictures I discovered on my camera:

Holy Water

I call this photo “Holy Water.”  Last Monday, I was sitting in my office and the back room was dark.  A tiny sliver of sunshine peeked in at the edge of the vertical blinds and illuminated my co-worker’s water bottle.

Purple Hyacinth

This purple hyacinth believes it’s Spring.  It’s 37 degrees outside and this little guy decides to poke his head up and smile for my camera.

Bailey-the Beast

Bailey-the-Beast  wearing her tie-dyed bandana, guarding her hotdog.  I couldn’t resist.

My Christmas Tree

My Christmas tree.  It seemed to get bigger every day.  While decorating it, I realized that approximately half of our networth consists of Christmas ornaments.

     Angel Ornament

Arizona Land

In November 2008, we visited our 40-acre parcel in northern Arizona.  Actually, we couldn’t find our parcel.  We looked and looked and hiked and hiked, but couldn’t find it.  When we got home, we realized that we were one parcel to the east.  But our parcel looks sort of like this one.  That’s my truck in the background, and my beast in the middleground.

A Family of Snowmen

My friend Susan and I got a little crazy with the snowmen pattern.  Here are eight of approximately twelve we made for Christmas gifts.

What a Pumpkin!

My baby, Pumpkin.  One of our rescue-kitties.

The other cat.  His medical records state that his name is Jax, but I call him “Disdain.”  He hates me.  And he bites.

Frangipangi flowers.  Actually, this is a sample photo I found in a folder called “Sample Photos” on my PC.  I just like the name of the flower.

  1. A beautiful Christmas Tree! With an angel, no less. ;-)

Happy New Year and I hope your test results come out OK.

    • Thanks, Angel. In fact, I’ve got about 15 angels on it. I’d say that angels are my Christmas tree theme! I wanted to make sure to capture at least one to show you. Re: the tests? I’m confident that everything’s fine. I’ll let you know when I know. Love to you and your guys.

  2. Check up? What? What was the visit all about? Say nothing is wrong.

    • Hi Lisa. I’ve got ventricular tachycardia. Every year I have to get evaluated to see if the medication is still controlling it, or if I have to have a defibrillator implanted. I’ll know more on Wednesday after we discuss the results. I’m sure I’m still doing okay. Because of your post regarding your physical, I had the doctor include a full metabolic workup in addition to the other tests. :^D

    • Thanks, Usman. I’m sure it’ll all work out. And I’ve got my two books picked out for Wednesday’s appointment!
