One Bad Decision After Another

I’ve been struggling for weeks to sift through ideas for the next Writer’s Digest Short Story Competition.  Instead of writing.  I don’t know why I don’t just write what’s in my head, then sift through the pages for a story to submit for competition.  It’s just dithering instead of writing.

I’d rather be writing instead of dithering.

Yesterday at lunch, the first line of the story came to me as I scrambled to find something to write on.  I found my pen and used my paper placemat, while staving off the waiter who waited patiently for my order.  The first 100 words came in a rush.  Now I need to figure out who’s voice it is and where they want to go from here.

The working title is “One Bad Decision After Another.”

Only 90 minutes to lunch.  I can hardly wait.  And yes, I have my notebook and a coupla pens.

  1. Hopefully, this story is not coming from your life. Good luck!

  2. Well, who else’s life would I use, Angel?
