Expanding My Comfort Zone – Part II

So this week, I will be making room in my life for more life. I’ve been reading about releasing old useless stuff (both physical and emotional) and opening up to receive abundance from the universe. Being generous allows generosity to flow. Give what I would receive.

1. I will look at people I don’t know and smile. My “walking around” face is not open and friendly. While I’m not exactly scowly, I will work on open and friendly.

2. I will remember that other drivers on the road are not targets. They have mommies who love them, and maybe even pets, too. I will make room in my lane for other travelers, and offer thoughts of loving kindness to them.

3. I will stop and breathe, and then breathe again before reacting to a perceived affront (by ratcheting up my inner screamin’ meemie). Perhaps I misunderstood, or overreacted. It’s possible . . . It is.

4. I will select new routes to travel and look out the window to see what’s there, and enjoy the view.

5. I will shop in an ethnic market to explore new ideas about food.

6. I will listen to “world” music instead of just listening to the same CD over and over again.

7. I will let go of my pre-conceived opinion on whatever issue is being discussed and release the impulse to argue. I am not my “ideas”. I will let go of my identification with fleeting thoughts. It may be possible that I might learn something new.

8. I will not medicate with TV. No more surfing. I may choose to watch a particular show, then I will turn it off or just walk away. No more numbing.

9. I will refocus my energies on writing and learning new skills (like speaking/reading French).

10. I will sit quieting and listen for at least 20 minutes a day.
